What is the design challenge?

To be innovative and create a create a user interface

What is it?

Our idea, 'Binder,' revolves around a platform dedicated to organising items, photos, videos, and various other forms of media into easily accessible folders. We've crafted a third-party desktop app/website intended to be a centralised hub for all media related to a particular topic. This not only facilitates convenient access but also inspires users to explore new interests, events, and communities.

Introducing BiNDER...

Revolutionise your content-saving experience with our innovative platform! Say goodbye to scattered videos on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. Introducing "Binders" – link multiple apps effortlessly, organise content seamlessly, and access it with a breeze. Elevate your social game by adding friends, sharing links, binders, and juicy internet gossip. Streamline your online world with Binders – where innovation meets connection!

Sign up/ Login

Users are able to sign up or login into Binder with ease as both functions are mirrored on the screen.

Landing page

Users are then taken to their home screen. Friends are located on the right and 'binders'* are located on the left hand side. Centred is the feed where information, images and posts are loaded based on search - by adding links and social media platforms, it is then extracted onto their feed.

Binder* - a categorised folder saving multiple forms of content saved from various social media applications

Chat

By selecting a friend on the right nav bar, users are able to start and open a chat. Call, sending attachments and emojis are enabled in this function, with an a coloured button indicating user status (online/offline).

Edit profile

Users are then able to edit their profile details. Adding additional social media applications are to be added here which will then refresh and update onto their Binder newsfeed.

What I’ve learnt from this project

• Enhanced time management skills were a necessity, given the project's tight timeline of only 4 days

• Working on a given set brief brought a real-world perspective to the project, highlighting the potential application of the designed product in practical scenarios.

• Remote collaboration played a significant role, creating this project solely in a remote setting - collaborative skills allowed me to work adaptably.
