To simplify the skincare process by providing AI-powered, personalised, sustainable, and wallet-friendly recommendations while enhancing the user experience with data-driven insights.
Timeline — 2 Weeks (2024)
Role — User researcher / UI designer / video producer
Outputs — 1 minute video, UI mockups, report, user journey map
Team — Madison Nguyen, Mehak Dhiman and Anh Nguyen
Challenge —
How might we simplify the process of finding the right skincare solutions and provide clear, consolidated information on how to use and combine products effectively whilst promoting sustainability?
Solution —
An AI powered app to offer skincare that's personal, sustainable, and wallet-friendly. Users are notified with daily skin affirmations, can adjust routines based on weather updates, and access an AI chatbot, private diary, and community forum. Plus, a resources page featuring green-rated articles, all powered by 100% renewable electricity.
Research —
Completed in a two-week sprint, I led the project management and ideation sessions by analysing the brief and ensuring the integration of all evaluation criteria. I guided the team through rapid brainstorming, ideation and prototyping activities.
I initiated the brainstorming session with sticky notes, encouraging ideas based on L'Oréal's product offerings. We then used affinity diagramming to categorise and refine similar concepts.
After finalising a concept, we sourced inspiration from Dribble and Behance and took screenshots of apps we liked to ‘frankenstein’ (combine elements) into a cohesive UI concept.
We then rapid storyboarded a video concept and used gantt charts and kanban boards to manage the process and ensure accountability for our tasks.
